We operate a fleet of fully air-conditioned vehicles for the most comfortable journey either door to door or door to airport. Our entire fleet is subject to the usual high standards of safety and quality that clients have come to expect from Pets En Transit.

You have the option of whether you want your pet transported via road or via air. We will offer you complete and advise throughout this process as to what will be best for your pet to keep stress to a minimum.

Pets En Transit are highly trained in dealing with all countries paperwork regulations. You can be totally sure when using our services that all your pets documentation will be correct, in order and prepared well in advance of your pet leaving or entering South Africa. We have an excellent relationship with Pet Transport agents all round the world.

We understand just how frustrating and stressful your move is, we promise not to bombard you with paperwork and sciences. We will personally deal directly with you throughout your move and give you clear concise instructions on what needs to be completed from your side.

All our crates are hand made, if your pet needs a specific crate, we will measure him/her and ensure their transport crate is the best possible fit to ensure a great trip. It is standard for water bowls and shredded paper to be fitted in every crate, thus a comfortable journey is guaranteed.

How to Measure your pet for his/her custom travel container.

1. Length of your dog from the front of his nose, to the base (not end) of his tail
2. Measure the overall height of your dog (from toe to top of head or ears)
3. Measure the width of your dogs shoulders (from left to right shoulder)

Please let us have these measurements when you call / email us and we will ensure your pets crate is made to measure.  Remember to notify us if your kitty is larger than normal of if they are a snub nose breed so we can ensure that an optimal box size is prepared for the most comfortable journey for your pet.  We will never ever squash a pet into a container that is too small for him/her, this can not only cause injury and will be completely unethical, but cause severe travel stress for your pet and if he/she ever needs to travel again can lead to lasting trauma.

Not all countries require Quarantine, but if your move is abroad and your destination requires your pets to be quarantined, Pets En Transit will work alongside you to ensure a quarantine kennel is found to suit your needs. We have personally visited many quarantine kennels in the UK, so can offer excellent professional references.

Duncan Harmse is a specialised International Consultant who has been shipping pets for over 15 years, he is well know in the international community.

Christine De Beer also specialises in International Shipping, Christine has been in the industry since 1999 and has a wonderful relationship with her clients.

Scott Parker is relatively new to animal shipping and was certainly born to do it.  Scott will deal with all domestic clients from start to finish and offers the most comprehensive, personal service available.

We have a wonderful team of admin ladies who keep the office running smoothly and assist with all paperwork.

The Johannesburg Branch is managed and under supervision of Hazel Imrie, Hazel personally transported all her own pets from the UK out to South Africa so is fully aware of all the concerns that face owners when they start this daunting task.

The Durban Branch is managed under supervision of Penny Terblanche, Penny has been shipping animals for many many years and offers a very comprehensive service to all clients.

All our animal handlers must meet strict selection criteria, you can have peace of mind that only the best handlers are dealing with your pets. Our handlers are sensitive to the stress that some animals will suffer and are trained to deal with them in a gentle & sympathetic matter. When pets are loaded, the handler will check each and every animal to ensure they are comfortable & secure.

Pets En Transit will only use kennels of the highest quality. All our kennels are carefully vetted, the owners of Pets En Transit use these kennels for their own pets.

In Durban, we use Ralun kennels, an exclusive family owned, award winning kenneling facility.

In Johannesburg, we use Ralun Kennels Gauteng (Ralun Durban's little brother), these kennels are truly fabulous with 1 on 1 time spent with your pet, underfloor heating and grassy runs are just a few of the fantastic services boasted by Ralun Gauteng.

We will of course use kennels according to owners preferences.
